New Audi Q9 SUV Interior Gets 4D Audio, Massage Seats, Electric Doors, and More

Audi Q9 gets electric doors and smart panoramic roof New flagship SUV offers massage seats and 4D audio tech Audi Q9 could arrive in India sometime in 2027

Audi has officially revealed the interior of the upcoming Q9 SUV ahead of its global debut later this year.

Positioned above the Q7 and Q8, the Q9 will become Audi’s new flagship SUV and will focus heavily on luxury, comfort, and advanced technology.

The new SUV introduces several premium features never seen before on an Audi production model, including electrically operated doors and a 4D sound system.

The Audi Q9 will be available in both six-seat and seven-seat layouts.

The six-seat version gets electrically adjustable second-row captain seats with ventilation for both the seat base and backrest. The front seats also come with ventilation and massage functions for added comfort during long journeys.

Audi says all seats in the SUV get partial power adjustment as standard. For better practicality, the third-row seatbacks can also be folded individually using electric controls.

The overall cabin layout focuses heavily on creating a lounge-like experience for passengers.

Electric Doors Make Their Debut

One of the biggest highlights of the new Q9 is the addition of electric doors, a first for any Audi production vehicle.

The doors can be opened or closed using the key, the myAudi smartphone app, the MMI infotainment system, the brake pedal, or even the seatbelt buckle.

Audi has also added surround sensors with obstacle detection. This technology can stop the doors from opening into nearby objects, walls, or even approaching cyclists in tight spaces.

Smart Panoramic Roof With Ambient Lighting

The Q9 gets a large panoramic glass roof with adjustable transparency technology.

The roof is divided into nine individually controllable sections that can switch between transparent and opaque modes at the touch of a button.

Interestingly, the roof automatically turns opaque when the SUV is parked and restores the previous setting when restarted.

Higher variants also get 84 integrated LEDs inside the roof structure, working together with the ambient lighting system and supporting up to 30 different colour themes.

4D Audio and Advanced Cabin Tech

Audi has equipped the Q9 with an upgraded Bang & Olufsen premium sound system featuring 4D audio technology.

Apart from conventional surround sound speakers and headrest speakers, the setup also uses seat-mounted actuators that allow passengers to physically feel bass and sound effects through the seats.

The dashboard houses Audi’s latest MMI panoramic display setup, while the centre console gets dual wireless charging pads supporting the latest Qi2.2 charging standard and MagSafe-compatible smartphones.

The SUV also features a large heads-up display, although Audi has not yet revealed the complete infotainment specifications.

Global Debut and India Launch

The Audi Q9 is expected to make its global debut later this year. More details about engine options, dimensions, and market rollout plans will be revealed closer to launch.

Audi could also bring the Q9 to India, although its arrival here is expected sometime in 2027.

With luxury-focused features, smart technology, and a spacious three-row cabin, the Q9 is shaping up to become Audi’s most premium SUV yet.
