New Hyundai Bayon Teaser reveals a crossover stance Rear design revealed, bookings open at Rs 11,000
Hyundai is all set to launch the Bayon midsize SUV in the country in October 2026. Interested customers can pre-book the SUV online or at authorised Hyundai dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. The company has released multiple teaser videos on the INTERNET, and the latest teaser video gives us a glimpse of the overall silhouette and its rear design.
The teaser confirms that the Hyundai Bayon comes with H-Edge lighting at the rear, mimicking the front. There is a sleek LED strip that is placed just above the rear bumper. This is a completely new design for the Bayon, which we have not seen with any of the Hyundai models until now. The reverse lamps are expected to be integrated into the tail-lamp cluster. Other design elements include integrated roof spoiler with stop lamps, shark fin antenna, and HYUNDAI logo placed right above the black strip on the tailgate, and BAYON word mark.

Previous teasers reveal that the Hyundai Bayon gets a sculpted bonnet design, and a signature H-Edge LED daytime running lights. It comes with Geometric Wheel Arches, Wrap-around Door Cladding and Bridge-Type Roof Rails. The midsize SUV measures 4.2 meters in length, sits right between the sub-4m Venue and the Creta. In fact, the next-gen Creta will grow in size and is expected to measure close to 4.5 meters in length. Hyundai claims that the Bayon will offer superior legroom, headroom and shoulder room for all occupants.
The Hyundai Bayon carries a more crossover profile rather than the boxy SUV shape, which is most likely to be offered with the next-gen Creta. The SUV is built on the Global K Enhanced Platform, which is engineered for 5-star Indian safety standards. According to the Korean giant, the Bayon is designed with a strong focus on occupant protection, structural rigidity and advanced safety engineering to meet the expectations of modern customers.
The Bayon crossover will be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine paired to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 114bhp and a peak torque of 144Nm. It will be the first Hyundai measuring above 4 meters in length to get a factory-fitted CNG option. It is likely to get an underbody CNG tank.
