New Lexus TZ EV - 530km Range, AWD, Captain Seats, and More

Lexus TZ EV revealed with up to 530 km claimed range SUV gets AWD setup, captain seats, and panoramic roof Luxury electric SUV supports fast charging and ADAS tech

Lexus has taken the wraps off the all-new Lexus TZ EV, its first-ever three-row electric SUV for global markets.

The new luxury EV sits above the RZ in the company’s lineup and has been designed with a strong focus on comfort, space, and everyday usability. Lexus calls it a “Driving Lounge,” and that idea is clearly reflected in the SUV’s cabin and feature list.

The TZ is expected to become the luxury counterpart to Toyota’s upcoming electric three-row SUV in international markets.

The Lexus TZ has a more upright and muscular design compared to the smaller RZ, giving it a proper full-size SUV presence.

Up front, the SUV gets a closed-off grille area along with sleek LED headlamps, L-shaped daytime running lights, and an illuminated Lexus logo.

The side profile looks clean and modern with flush door handles, large alloy wheels, blacked-out pillars, and smooth body panels that help improve aerodynamics. Lexus says the SUV has a drag coefficient of 0.27, which is impressive for a large SUV.

At the rear, there’s a full-width LED light bar along with illuminated Lexus lettering. Buyers will also get multiple colour choices, including a new green shade called Sonic Tellus.

Inside, the Lexus TZ focuses heavily on passenger comfort and luxury. The SUV gets a spacious three-row cabin along with a panoramic sunroof and a large touchscreen infotainment system.

The dashboard has a clean layered design with a digital driver display, head-up display, and touch-sensitive controls that light up when the driver’s hand moves closer.

One of the biggest highlights is the second row, which gets heated and ventilated captain seats with ottoman support, making long journeys far more comfortable.

Other premium features include a 21-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, ambient lighting, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, and the latest Lexus Safety System+ ADAS suite.

Lexus has also used sustainable materials inside the cabin, including bamboo-based trim and bio-based upholstery materials.

Up to 530 km Claimed Range

The Lexus TZ EV will be available with two battery pack options - a 76.96kWh unit and a larger 95.8kWh battery pack.

With the bigger battery, Lexus claims a driving range of up to 530 km under WLTP testing standards.

The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version produces up to 408hp and can sprint from 0-100kph in 5.4 seconds.

Lexus says its DIRECT4 AWD system helps improve stability and power delivery in different driving conditions.

Fast Charging and Modern EV Tech

The Lexus TZ supports up to 22kW AC charging and 150kW DC fast charging. Under ideal conditions, the battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 35 minutes.

The SUV will support different charging standards depending on the market, and Lexus will also offer vehicle-to-home and external power supply functions in select regions.
