Kia Seltos, first launched in 2019, has been one of the brand’s best-selling SUVs in India and global markets. Now, the next-generation model has been spotted undergoing testing in Europe, revealing major design updates.
The heavily camouflaged test mule shows that the 2026 Seltos will have a larger and more rugged look. Unlike the current model’s roundish styling, the new version features a boxier silhouette with a flatter roofline and bolder bodywork.
At the front, the SUV has a more upright fascia, similar to the latest Kia Carnival and Sportage. A wider front grille is flanked by newly designed LED headlamps, while a prominent lower bumper houses a large air intake and a centrally-mounted radar sensor.
On the sides, striking fenders and a larger greenhouse give it a more muscular SUV look. Although exact dimensions haven’t been confirmed, the prototype appears bigger than the current Seltos.
The rear of the SUV is still under heavy wraps, but some details are visible. The 2026 Seltos will get a redesigned tailgate and a new lower bumper with the number plate now positioned on the bumper. The vertically stacked LED tail-lights appear to take inspiration from the Kia EV5.
For the Indian market, Kia will retain the current engine options – a 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre turbo diesel. However, a hybrid powertrain based on the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine will also be added to the lineup.
The next-generation Kia Seltos is likely to debut globally in early 2026, with the India launch expected to follow soon after. With major design upgrades and a new hybrid option, the Seltos is set to remain a strong player in the compact SUV segment.
The global-spec next-generation Kia Seltos, set to launch in 2027, will bring a bold new design, larger proportions, and advanced tech upgrades. Inspired by Kia’s flagship models like the Sportage and EV5, the SUV will sport a boxier stance, upright front grille, and taller LED tail-lamps.
It is expected to be powered by a more efficient 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with a strong hybrid system. The standout feature will be the e-AWD setup with a rear-mounted electric motor, offering improved traction and stability in all weather conditions. With these upgrades, the new Seltos aims to offer a more premium and globally competitive package.
