Next-gen Toyota Fortuner 2027 expected by early 2027 New platform for better ride and off-road ability More features like ADAS, dual screens likely
Toyota Fortuner is all set for a major transformation. After years of dominating the premium SUV space in India, the new Toyota Fortuner is now preparing for a full generational upgrade. As per latest reports, the global debut for the next-gen Toyota Fortuner is expected by late 2026 or early 2027.
These Next-gen Toyota Fortuner updates could make it one of the biggest upgrades the SUV has ever received.
One of the biggest changes in the new Fortuner will be its underpinnings. The upcoming model is expected to move to Toyota’s TNGA-F ladder-frame platform, which also supports the Toyota Hilux.
This new architecture is designed to improve overall strength, ride comfort, and off-road capability. It should also make the SUV more refined for daily use while maintaining its tough character.

The Next-gen Toyota Fortuner updates will not just be about performance. The cabin is expected to see a major upgrade as well.
The new Toyota Fortuner could come with a redesigned dashboard featuring two large 12.3-inch screens; one for infotainment and another for driver information. Features like connected car tech, over-the-air updates, and a 360-degree camera system are also likely.
In addition, Toyota may finally introduce advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), bringing the Fortuner in line with modern premium SUVs.
The new Fortuner is expected to get a more aggressive and evolved design.
Up front, it could feature sleeker LED headlamps, a wider grille, and a more sculpted bumper. New alloy wheels and sharper body lines may further enhance its road presence.
At the rear, a full-width LED light bar connecting the tail lamps is expected, along with bold Fortuner badging. Updates like thicker body cladding and a more muscular stance could make it look even tougher.
Inside, the new Toyota Fortuner is expected to feel more premium than before.
Features like a panoramic sunroof, improved climate control, and better cabin materials could be added. The SUV will continue to offer a seven-seat layout, with possible improvements in space and comfort.
There are also talks of better visibility and easier entry and exit, making it more practical for everyday use.
Multiple test models have already been spotted globally, suggesting that development is at an advanced stage. The Next-gen Toyota Fortuner 2027 is expected to make its world debut between late 2026 and early 2027.
Following its global reveal, the new Toyota Fortuner is likely to arrive in India soon after, given its strong popularity in the market.
