Tata Avinya X and Mahindra BE 07 Launch Timeline Out

Tata Motors to launch Avinya brand in 2027 Mahindra to launch its fourth born EV next year

Tata Motors and Mahindra, the two homegrown automakers are planning to introduce multiple electric SUVs to further strengthen their position in the passenger electric vehicle market. Tata Motors is gearing up for the launch of the Sierra EV and the Tiago EV facelift; however, the brand’s biggest launch will be the Avinya. On the other hand, Mahindra will introduce its fourth Born electric SUV based on the BE 07 concept. The first product under the Avinya nameplate and the Mahindra BE 07 electric SUV are set to be launched in our market in 2027.

Tata Avinya X

First product under the new premium EV brand will be the Avinya SUV, which is likely to be the production version of the Avinya X concept debuted at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The company will open a new premium dealership network to retain products under Avinya nameplate. The company will target customers in tier 1 and tier 2 cities, where demand for high-end EVs is growing steadily.

The Tata Avinya X will be based on the JLR’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMR). Tata will be paying a royalty fee to JLR for using the platform; however, the architecture will be heavily localised to achieve competitive pricing. The electric SUV will come with a coupe-style SUV shape, featuring a sloping roofline, pop-out door handles, and wrap-around tail-lamps connected by LED bar, multi-spoke aero-optimised alloys, and connected LED DRLs.

Mahindra BE 07 Launch In 2027

Testing of the new Mahindra BE 07 has already been started on the Indian roads. It will sit between the BE 6 and Mahindra XEV 9e, and will directly rival the Tata Harrier EV and the VinFast VF 7. The electric BE 7 will carry a proper SUV shape with modern design elements. It will be based on the INGLO skateboard platform that also underpins the BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S.

The Mahindra BE 07 comes with an upright stance, featuring an upright front fascia, raked front and rear windscreens and a flat roofline. The cabin will look similar to the XEV 9e, featuring triple-screen covering the entire dashboard. It is expected to be offered with three battery options - 59kWh, 70kWh, and 79kWh, which currently available with the XEV 9S.
