Ola Electric teases three electric cars for the Indian market; Production likely to commence from 2023; More details to follow on 15th August.
OLA Electric has announced its plans to enter the Indian four-wheeler market with premium all-electric cars. In a recent teaser video, the home grown automaker has provided the first glimpse of its upcoming electric car range. While the cars are still in the concept stage, they are expected to enter production by late 2023. More details about the company’s production plan and its product strategy will be shared on 15th of August 2022. Ola currently sells electric two-wheelers namely S1 and S1 Pro in the Indian market.
Going by the teaser video, the vehicles will sport a futuristic design, something that looks like a concept car. First in line is expected to be an electric sedan featuring a coupe like silhouette and a low-set bonnet with a LED strip stretching right across the front fascia. Other highlights of the exterior include an illuminated OLA logo and horizontally placed LED stop lamps. The front and rear bumpers have sharp lines giving the sedan a sporty look. All the three models planned will have a very similar design language with slight differentiation created by changes to the front and the rear.

Currently, there are no details about the interiors of the upcoming OLA cars, although we expect the automaker to offer a fully loaded cabin featuring a minimalistic design.

Earlier it was speculated that the EV start-up will borrow the platform from other manufacturers, but now it has been confirmed that the brand will use its own localised platform to keep the price in check. As for the powertrain, we can expect a 70 or 80 kWh battery pack as part of the package offering a range of around 450 kilometres on a single charge.

Once launched, the OLA electric sedan is expected to be priced around Rs 25 lakh and will rival against the likes of the MG ZS EV and the Tata Nexon EV Max.
