Renault Duster Hybrid Sold Out Before Price Reveal - No New Bookings

Duster hybrid launch by Diwali New bookings stopped CNG version under consideration

Renault has finally launched the new-gen Duster SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The company has only announced the prices of the turbo petrol versions, and the hybrid variants will be launched during the festive season, before Diwali. The company has said that the Duster hybrid has received an overwhelming response from buyers, and it is already booked out for 2026.

Speaking at the Duster launch event, Francisco Hidalgo, VP, Renault India said that the initial response to the Duster hybrid has exceeded expectations. The company is currently working on increasing capacity at the Chennai manufacturing facility. Interestingly, hybrid variants accounted for 39 percent of the total pre-bookings for the Duster in metro cities.

Renault has stopped taking further bookings for the Duster hybrid, and bookings will re-open closer to its launch around Diwali. The French automaker could also introduce the CNG version of the Duster if there’s sufficient customer demand.

New Duster Engine Specifications

The new Renault Duster is available with two engine choices, a 1.0L, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol and a 1.3L, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol. While the former churns out 100hp and 160Nm, the 1.3L turbo unit produces 163hp and 280Nm. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual as standard and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic with 1.3L turbo unit. The new Renault Duster is the most powerful model in its category, as its direct rival Creta/Seltos and Sierra offers 158bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol engine.

The hybrid version of the SUV will get a 109bhp, 1.8L, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 49bhp electric motor, a 1.4kWh battery pack and a 20bhp hybrid starter generator (HSG). The combined power and torque output stands at 160bhp and 172Nm, respectively.
