Renault Duster Hybrid - The Most Powerful In The Segment

Renault has recently launched the much-anticipated Duster SUV in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs. 10.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The company has initially introduced the SUV with two turbo petrol engines, and its strong hybrid model is scheduled to be launched by October 2026. At the launch event, Renault officially announced the Duster Hybrid has been completely sold out for the 2026, and bookings for the same have been halted. 

Duster Hybrid - Most Powerful in the Segment

The hybrid version of the Renault Duster will be equipped with a 109bhp, 1.8L, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 49bhp electric motor, a 1.4kWh battery pack and a 20bhp hybrid starter generator (HSG). The combined power and torque output stands at 160bhp and 172Nm, respectively.

The Duster hybrid will take on the likes of the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder hybrids. Both these rivals are powered by a 1.5L, 3-cylinder NA petrol engine with an electric motor and a 0.76 kWh battery pack. The engine offers a combined power and torque output of 116hp and 122Nm, respectively. 

Other Engine Options

The new Duster engine options include, a 1.0L, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol and a 1.3L, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol. While the former churns out 100hp and 160Nm, the 1.3L turbo unit produces 163hp and 280Nm. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual as standard and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic with 1.3L turbo unit. The new Renault Duster is the most powerful model in its category, as its direct rival Creta/Seltos and Sierra offers 158bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol engine.
