Tesla Model Y Price Reduced by Rs 9 Lakh; Now Starts at Rs 50.89 Lakh

Tesla Model Y now priced at Rs 50.89 lakh Top-end Premium Long Range variant discontinued

Tesla India has rejigged the Model Y electric SUV lineup. The company has significantly reduced the price of the base variant while discontinuing the top-end variant. The Tesla Model Y is now available in two variants - RWD base variant and Long Wheelbase 6-seater variant.

The big update is that the base Premium RWD variant is now cheaper by Rs 9 lakh. This variant is now available at a price tag of Rs 50.89 lakh, ex-showroom. This significantly reduced the Model Y ownership and makes it more accessible to customers in the premium electric SUV space.

Tesla Model Y L Interior

On the flip side, the top-spec Premium Long Range RWD variant, priced at Rs 67.89 lakh, has been discontinued. The SUV is now available in two variants - Premium RWD and Model Y L Premium. The top-spec variant has not received any price revision, and is available at Rs 61.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The Model Y L is a six-seater SUV that offers 2+2+2 seating layout.

The Tesla Model Y L is offered with a dual-motor setup for an AWD configuration. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 5 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 201kmph. As per WLTP cycle, the Long Wheelbase Model Y is claimed to return up to 681 kilometres of range on a single charge. It also comes with a vehicle-to-load bi-directional charging function, which can charge devices and appliances, and e-bikes.

It measures 4,976mm in length, 1920mm in width, and 1,668mm in height, which makes the new Y L around 180mm longer and 44mm taller than the 5-seater RWD Premium variant. The wheelbase is now extended by 150mm to 3,040mm, which allows Tesla to add third-row seats. However, the laden ground clearance is reduced by 16mm to 122mm.
