Tesla Model Y L launched Cost Rs 63.12 lakh on-road in Maharashtra Gets dual-motor AWD setup
Tesla has launched a new six-seater version of the Model Y in the Indian market. Called the Tesla Model Y L, the new variant is available at a price tag of Rs 61.99 lakh, ex-showroom. It is positioned right between the existing Premium RWD and Premium Long Range RWD variants. For people not in the know, Tesla entered the Indian market in July 2025 with a fully-imported Model Y. Due to steep 100 per cent import duty, the electric vehicle is significantly costlier in India compared to other global markets.
The Tesla Model Y range is now available in three variants, priced between Rs 59.89 lakh and Rs 67.89 lakh, ex-showroom. The new Model Y L variant will cost Rs 63.12 lakh on-road in Maharashtra. This price includes Rs 3,02,818 GST, Rs 61,990 as 1% TCS, Rs 50,000 administration and service fee, Rs 200 road tax and charges, and Rs 800 for Fastag.
It measures 4,976mm in length, 1920mm in width, and 1,668mm in height, which makes the new Y L around 180mm longer and 44mm taller than the existing model. The wheelbase is now extended by 150mm to 3,040mm, which allows Tesla to add third-row seats. However, the laden ground clearance is reduced by 16mm to 122mm.

The Tesla Model Y L is a six-seater SUV that offers 2+2+2 seating layout. The second-row seats come with a retractable armrest, and has two-way power folding and heating functions. The third-row has 50:50 split seats, and usable features like USB Type-C ports, cupholders, and C-pillar-mounted AC vents. With second and third-row seats folded down, the Model Y Long Wheelbase offers a cargo space of up to 2539-litres. Both row seats can be folded down via buttons in the cargo area. It also has a 116-litres frunk.
The Model Y L is offered with a dual-motor setup for an AWD configuration. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 5 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 201kmph. As per WLTP cycle, the Long Wheelbase Model Y is claimed to return up to 681 kilometres of range on a single charge. It also comes with a vehicle-to-load bi-directional charging function, which can charge devices and appliances, and e-bikes.
