Mahindra is gearing up for a big reveal on Independence Day 2025 with two all-new SUV concepts, the next-gen Bolero Neo, and a multi-fuel platform called Freedom_NU. The teaser campaign has already begun, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come.
The Mahindra Vision.T concept SUV will be one of the main highlights of the event. Teased ahead of its debut, the Vision.T seems to be an evolved version of the Thar.e concept that was showcased in 2023.
- The SUV features a boxy silhouette, clamshell bonnet, chunky off-road tyres, and wide fenders, hinting at serious off-road capability.
- It is expected to be underpinned by Mahindra’s INGLO platform, and will likely be a close-to-production version of the Thar electric SUV.
The second concept, named Vision.S, is also set to break cover on August 15. While details remain scarce, the design reveals an upright front fascia, boxy proportions, and vented clamshell bonnet.
- The Vision.S could be a Scorpio-N Electric or even a pickup truck concept based on the Scorpio platform.
- Mahindra is expected to use its new Freedom_NU platform for this model, with possible dual-motor AWD setup for the electric version.
- The Scorpio-N Pickup, which was earlier showcased globally, could also make a comeback in this concept form.
The next-gen Mahindra Bolero Neo is set to receive a major design and feature overhaul for 2025.
- Inspired by the Scorpio-N and Thar Roxx, the SUV will sport new body panels, a bold grille, circular headlamps, LED fog lamps, and flush door handles.
- It retains its rugged character with a side-hinged tailgate, spare wheel, and chunky cladding, while gaining new alloy wheels and a larger glass area.
- Inside, it will offer a larger touchscreen, digital driver display, leatherette upholstery, panoramic sunroof, and safety features like six airbags and ESC.
- Under the hood, a more powerful 1.5L 4-cylinder diesel engine is expected, with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
Mahindra will also unveil its new Freedom_NU platform, a modular architecture capable of supporting petrol, diesel, electric, and hybrid powertrains.
- An evolution of the New Flexible Architecture (NFA), this monocoque platform will be the base for several upcoming Mahindra SUVs.
- It’s designed for global markets and will be produced at the Chakan plant.
- The teaser hints at integration of ICE and electric drivetrains, offering flexibility for future launches.
