Volkswagen is all set to give its popular mid-size sedan, the Virtus, a stylish update with a facelift expected in India by late 2025 or early 2026. Volkswagen Virtus facelift aims to make the sedan more modern, adding new features and a refreshed look while keeping its trusted performance. Along with the Virtus, the Taigun is also scheduled for a refresh by March 2026.
The upcoming Volkswagen Virtus facelift will keep the sedan’s recognizable sharp lines while adding subtle design touches. The update is likely to feature a redesigned front grille, tweaked LED headlights, refreshed bumpers, and new LED tail lamps.
Volkswagen is also expected to introduce updated alloy wheels, giving the car a modern edge while keeping its familiar side profile intact.
Inside, the Virtus facelift 2025 will bring a more premium cabin experience. Upgraded upholstery and a new color scheme are expected to enhance comfort and style.
A standout addition will be the panoramic sunroof, a feature growing in popularity among Indian buyers. The facelift is also expected to include ADAS Level 2, bringing advanced driver-assistance features to the mid-size sedan segment.
Volkswagen is expected to retain the same engine options in the Virtus facelift, focusing on proven performance rather than major mechanical changes. The base engine is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit that delivers 115 bhp of power and 178 Nm of torque.
For those seeking more performance, the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 150 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, providing brisk acceleration and confident highway performance. Both engines are appreciated for their balanced mix of power and fuel efficiency, making the Virtus a practical yet fun-to-drive mid-size sedan.
By keeping these engines unchanged in the facelifted model, Volkswagen ensures reliability and performance consistency while allowing buyers to enjoy the new styling and interior upgrades without compromise.
The Volkswagen Virtus facelift launch date is anticipated by the end of 2025 or early 2026.
Regarding pricing, the Volkswagen Virtus facelift price in India is likely to increase slightly from the current range of Rs 11.56 lakh to Rs 19.40 lakh. The price hike is expected to account for new features like ADAS Level 2, a panoramic sunroof, and interior upgrades.
With these updates, the facelifted Virtus will continue to compete with rivals such as the Honda City and Hyundai Verna, offering buyers advanced features and premium styling.
