German automaker BMW recently launched the facelifted X5 SUV in the Indian market. The updated model is offered in both petrol and diesel variants. Prices for the SUV start from 93.90 lakh (ex-showroom) which can go up to Rs 1.06 crores (ex-showroom).
The facelifted version of the BMW X5 now gets new lighting elements which feature Matrix Adaptive LED headlights with blue accents. Additionally, it comes equipped with an illuminated BMW kidney grille. The four-wheeler offers roof rails with satin aluminium trim accents all around. There are 21-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels as standard across all its variants.
Towards the rear, the new X5 sports L-shaped LED taillamps with the X motif embedded inside.
The significant change on the inside is the new twin-screen panel that includes a 14.9-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV now also provides a Harmon Kardon music system, ambient lighting, and a heads-up display. The xLine trims offer sports seats with a heating function while its M Sport variants get comfort seats with ventilation.
BMW also provides a Driver Assistance System including Attentiveness Assist, Cruise Control, Parking Assist with a 360-degree camera, remote parking via smartphone, drive recording, and Reverse Assist. For safety purposes, it comes equipped with Dynamic Stability Control, 6 airbags, and more.
The upgraded BMW X5 is powered by petrol and diesel engine options; both get a 48V mild-hybrid system. The xDrive 40i trim has a 3.0-litre, straight-six petrol engine that produces 381 bhp of power with 520 Nm of torque while its xDrive 30d variant caters to a 3.0-litre, straight-six diesel unit making 286 bhp and 650 Nm of torque.
Both powertrain options get the electric motor which can deliver the maximum power of 12 bhp and 200 Nm of torque and an 8-speed automatic transmission. It is claimed that the petrol unit can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.4 seconds while the diesel unit can manage to make it in just 6.1 seconds. The top speed of petrol and diesel variants are limited to 250 kmph and 233 kmph, respectively.
