BMW has unveiled the all-new iX3 based on the Neue Klasse platform. The electric SUV offers a claimed range of up to 805 km. It supports 400 kW fast charging and bidirectional charging.
BMW has taken the wraps off the all-new iX3 at the 2026 Indonesia Motor Show. The electric SUV is the first production model based on BMW's Neue Klasse architecture, which will be used for the brand's next generation of electric vehicles.
The new iX3 brings a completely fresh design, a larger battery, longer driving range and a new digital cabin packed with the latest technology.
The new BMW iX3 is powered by the company's sixth-generation eDrive technology. At launch, BMW will offer the iX3 50 xDrive, which comes with a 108.7 kWh battery pack. The company claims a WLTP-certified driving range of up to 805 km on a full charge.
The SUV also supports 400 kW DC fast charging. BMW says it can add up to 372 km of range in just 10 minutes, while charging from 10% to 80% takes only 21 minutes under ideal conditions. The iX3 also supports bidirectional charging, including Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functions.

The BMW iX3 50 xDrive gets a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. The electric SUV produces 469 bhp and 645 Nm of peak torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. BMW says the new powertrain delivers better performance and higher efficiency than its previous electric models.
The all-new iX3 introduces BMW's latest design language, which will be seen on future Neue Klasse models. At the front, the SUV gets vertically positioned kidney grilles, slim LED headlights and a cleaner bumper design. Flush-fitting door handles and smooth body panels help improve aerodynamics.
BMW says the new iX3 has a drag coefficient of just 0.24, helping improve efficiency and extend the driving range. The SUV measures 4,782 mm in length and offers a 520-litre boot, which can be expanded to 1,750 litres by folding the rear seats. It also comes with a 58-litre front storage compartment (frunk) for additional luggage space.
Inside, the iX3 gets a completely redesigned dashboard with BMW's latest operating system. The cabin features a full-width windscreen projection display along with a 17.9-inch central touchscreen. Buyers can also opt for a 3D head-up display. BMW has also introduced a new multifunction steering wheel and a cleaner dashboard layout to give the cabin a more modern and premium feel.
BMW will initially launch the iX3 50 xDrive in global markets. Production of the electric SUV will take place at the company's new Debrecen plant in Hungary. As the first production model based on the Neue Klasse platform, the new iX3 will play a key role in BMW's future EV strategy, with several more models based on the same architecture expected to follow in the coming years.
