5 New Cars Launching in India This August - Scorpio N, EX90 and More

Five new cars are set to launch in India this August. Mahindra, MG, Skoda and Volvo have new models lined up. The list includes SUVs, an EV, a sedan and limited editions.

August is set to be a busy month for the Indian automobile market. Several carmakers are preparing to launch new models, including updated SUVs, a premium electric SUV, a refreshed sedan and special editions.

Here's a look at the five biggest launches expected this month.

1. MG Cyberster and M9 Couture Edition

MG will begin the month with the launch of the Cyberster Couture Edition and M9 Couture Edition on August 3. Developed in collaboration with fashion designer Gaurav Gupta, these limited-edition models get exclusive exterior and interior styling. Only 50 units of each model will be available in India. There are no changes to the powertrain or features. Both models will be sold through MG's premium MG Select dealerships.

2. Mahindra Vision S

Mahindra is expected to take the wraps off the Vision S during its Independence Day event on August 15. The SUV is likely to be showcased in a near-production form and will be based on Mahindra's new NU_IQ platform. This architecture supports petrol, diesel and electric powertrains, along with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive layouts. The Vision S is expected to become one of Mahindra's key future SUVs and could eventually be offered in both ICE and electric versions.

3. 2026 Mahindra Scorpio N

Mahindra is also expected to introduce the 2026 Scorpio N this month. Instead of a full facelift, the SUV is likely to receive a feature-rich model year update. Dealer-ready units have already started arriving, suggesting that the launch is just around the corner.

The updated Scorpio N is expected to get a panoramic sunroof, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, redesigned centre console, new alloy wheels and 65W Type-C charging ports. Mechanically, it is expected to continue with the existing 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, paired with manual and automatic gearbox options.

4. Skoda Slavia Facelift

Skoda is scheduled to launch the updated Slavia on August 18. The sedan is expected to receive several design updates, including a revised grille, refreshed bumpers, new alloy wheels and updated LED lighting. Inside, buyers can expect a larger touchscreen, new upholstery, an updated driver's display and additional comfort features. The Slavia is likely to continue with the same 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine options.

5. Volvo EX90

Volvo will strengthen its EV lineup in India with the launch of the EX90 later this month. The EX90 will become the brand's flagship electric SUV in the country. Globally, it is available with battery packs of up to 106 kWh, offering a claimed driving range of 608 km on a full charge. The SUV also comes with dual electric motors, all-wheel drive and a premium feature list, making it Volvo's most advanced electric SUV yet.
