MG Starlight has made its global debut in Indonesia. The electric version offers a claimed range of up to 530 km. The SUV comes with a spacious three-row cabin and premium features.
MG has officially unveiled the new Starlight at the 2026 Indonesia Motor Show. The SUV has been introduced as the Wuling Eksion in Indonesia and is also sold as the Wuling Starlight 560 in some international markets. The three-row SUV is expected to arrive in India in the future under the MG brand. It comes with a choice of electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains, along with a long list of features.
The new MG Starlight measures around 4.7 metres in length, making it similar in size to the MG Hector Plus. The SUV gets a modern design with full LED headlamps, stylish daytime running lights, connected LED tail lamps and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Other highlights include a powered tailgate and rain-sensing wipers. The clean design and upright stance give the SUV a strong road presence.

Inside, the MG Starlight offers a spacious three-row cabin designed for family use. The dashboard features an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV also comes with powered and ventilated front seats, a 50W wireless phone charger, a six-speaker audio system and anti-pinch power windows. A 360-degree camera is also part of the feature list, making parking easier.
The fully electric version of the MG Starlight is powered by a 201 bhp electric motor that produces 310 Nm of torque. It uses a 69.2 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed driving range of up to 530 km on a full charge. Power is sent to the front wheels.
Along with the EV, MG also offers a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version. It combines a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with an electric motor and a 20.5 kWh battery pack. The petrol engine develops 103.6 bhp and 130 Nm, while the electric motor produces 194 bhp and 230 Nm. The PHEV can travel up to 125 km in electric-only mode, while its claimed combined driving range is more than 1,000 km. Like the EV, it is also front-wheel drive.

MG has not confirmed when the Starlight will arrive in India, but the SUV has already been spotted testing on Indian roads in recent months. When launched, it is expected to strengthen MG's premium SUV lineup by offering buyers a choice between a fully electric model and a plug-in hybrid. With its spacious three-row cabin, long feature list and impressive range figures, the new MG Starlight is expected to be an attractive option for families looking for an electrified SUV.
