BMW M2 CS gets a 530hp, 3.0L inline 6-cylinder engine 0-100kmph in 3.2 seconds 30kgs lighter than the standard M2
The new BMW M2 CS has been launched in the Indian market as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) model. To be available in limited numbers, the new M2 CS is available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.66 crore. It is based on the second generation BMW M2.
The new BMW M2 CS is powered by a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder S58 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology. This engine is capable of producing 530hp and 650Nm of torque, making it 50hp more powerful than the standard M2. The M2 CS is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 3.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 302kmph. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. It is around 30kg lighter than the standard model, which contributes to its improved performance.

The new BMW M3 CS has completed the 20.8 km Nurburgring Nordshleife circuit in 7 minutes 25.5 seconds, making it the fastest compact car on the track. There is a M-specific Setup button on the centre console that provides direct access to the settings options for the engine, standard adaptive M suspension, M Servotronic steering, integrated braking system working in conjunction with the M Compound brakes, and the M Traction Control function, which allows drivers to set individual intervention thresholds for wheel slip limitation. The M mode TRACK and the ten-stage M Traction Control allow customised handling characteristics. The M Drift Analyser shows the angle and duration of drifts executed by the driver, while the M Laptimer is ideal for those striving for the perfect lap.
The M2 CS is packed with BMW Operating System 8.5, which offers a wider range of digital content for information and entertainment, faster update cycles for functions, improved information on charging points for electric vehicles and optimized access to many specific online services. The display and control system expanded to include the BMW Head-Up Display in conjunction with the BMW Live Cockpit Professional.
The new BMW M2 CS comes with head and side airbags for driver and front passenger along with head airbags for rear seats as standard. Additional standard safety equipment includes Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Automatic Stability Control (ASC), M Dynamic Mode (MDM), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dry Braking function and Active M Differential.
