Citroen has launched its Basalt coupe SUV in the Indian market today. The French automaker has priced its new offering at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This is an introductory price and will be valid till October 31. Bookings are currently open at the token amount of Rs 11,001 and deliveries will begin in September this year.
The design and features of the Basalt were already revealed before its launch. It has a twin-slat front grille, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, circular fog lights, and silver skid plates. Other exterior design features include blacked-out ORVMs, flap-type door handles, dual-tone alloy wheels, shark-fin antenna, wraparound taillights, sloping roofline, and optional contrast-coloured roof.
Moving on to the inside, the Basalt Coupe SUV comes loaded with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, digital instrument console, 3-spoke steering wheel, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Other noteworthy features include a 3-step adjustable thigh support for the second row, rear AC vents, and six airbags.
Citroen Basalt is powered by two engine options. Its 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine can produce 80 bhp and 115 Nm. Another engine is the 1.2-litre turbo petrol which can generate 109 bhp and 190 Nm of torque. While the former engine is mated to a 5-speed manual, the latter gets a 6-speed manual and automatic.
