Hyundai Bayon Could Get Petrol, Turbo, CNG Power

Hyundai Bayon could get petrol, turbo, and CNG power. SUV will be bigger, taller, and more spacious than before. Sportier N-Line variant expected with upgraded styling.

Hyundai is preparing the next-generation Bayon SUV, which could arrive in India by Q1 2027. Spy images from Hyundai’s home market suggest the SUV will have multiple engine options, including petrol, turbo-petrol, and even a CNG variant, making it one of the few Hyundai SUVs above 4 meters to offer a CNG option.

Bigger and Taller Than Before

The new Bayon will have a larger and taller body compared to the outgoing model. It is expected to sit on a longer wheelbase with a wider track, creating more space inside the cabin. The SUV will also feature a more SUV-like profile, with a squarer roofline, slightly boxy proportions, and a more upright stance.

Design elements may include connected light bars at the front and rear, a flatter roof, and a rising waistline for a more muscular look. Top-spec variants could also get diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Sportier N-Line Variant

Hyundai is likely to launch a Bayon N-Line with sportier styling. This variant could feature a satin silver front bumper garnish, lower air dam, and a more aggressive grille. Other visual upgrades may include larger two-tone alloy wheels, matte black lower-body trim, gloss-black door accents, and black roof rails. Unlike the standard Bayon, the N-Line is expected to have twin exhaust pipes.

Modern Interior Features

The cabin layout is expected to be similar to the new Hyundai Venue, with dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and the driver’s display. Additional features may include a multi-functional steering wheel, automatic AC, and 360-degree camera, along with other advanced safety and convenience technologies.

Engine Options

The standard Bayon is expected to get a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. For more eco-friendly use, a dual-cylinder CNG version will also be offered.

Higher-spec variants could feature a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, offering more power and a sportier driving experience. This combination of petrol, turbo, and CNG options gives the Bayon flexibility for different driving preferences and fuel choices.
