The Ioniq 9 will be Hyundai’s flagship electric SUV It will be based on the brand’s E-GMP born electric platform The EV is likely to share the battery pack and motors with the Kia EV9
The Korean automaker Hyundai will officially reveal its flagship Ioniq 9 electric SUV in the global markets later this year. The Hyundai Ioniq 9 EV will be launched in select international markets in 2025. It will come as an electrified alternative to Hyundai's flagship Palisade SUV.
This 3-row electric SUV was first showcased as the Ioniq 7 concept. However, Korean media reports that the SUV's name has been changed to the Ioniq 9. It will be equivalent to its Korean sibling, the Kia EV9. This new electric SUV has already been spotted testing on American roads.

The spy images reveal that the new electric SUV will take design inspiration from the Ioniq Seven concept that debuted in 2021. It will be based on Hyundai's E-GMP architecture, which also underpins the brand's Ioniq range. It is likely to share the powertrain and battery configurations with the Kia EV9.
The base variant of the Kia EV9 will come with a rear-wheel drive setup and offer 215 hp. On the other hand, the top-end all-wheel drive model gets a bigger battery pack and offers 379 hp.
Kia will introduce the EV9 electric SUV in India before the end of this financial year. Hyundai has also confirmed that it will introduce more models on E-GMP architecture in India. This suggests that the Ioniq 9 could be introduced in our market; however, nothing has been officially revealed. Meanwhile, Hyundai is preparing to launch the Creta EV in the country in January 2025.
