Hyundai Palisade and Genesis Heading to India - New Premium Approach

Hyundai has recently announced to launch 26 new cars in the Indian market by the end of this decade. The company has already launched the new-gen Venue compact SUV. The same could arrive in our market.

The Korean brand will also enter a new MPV segment. A new 7-seater MPV based on the Carens Clavis platform can’t be ignored. Hyundai is already selling the Stargazer MPV in select ASIAN markets. Moreover, the company could also opt for the STARIA luxury MPV to rival the Kia Carnival.

The Palisade could be introduced as a CKD unit. Hyundai is looking to localise the full-size SUV in India and export it to other markets. The SUV could be priced around Rs 50 lakh, and will rival the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and others.

The SUV will be powered by a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a strong hybrid tech. This engine produces 334hp of power and 460Nm of torque, and is claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of 14.1kmpl. A 6-speed automatic gearbox driving the power to front-wheels will come as standard.
