Hyundai launches Prime HB and Prime SD taxi models in India. Both models get CNG power, strong mileage and 6 airbags as standard. Bookings open at Rs 5,000 with attractive warranty and finance options.
Hyundai Motor India has officially entered the commercial mobility space with the launch of its new Prime Taxi Range. The lineup includes two models - Prime HB (hatchback) and Prime SD (sedan), developed specifically for taxi operators and fleet owners.

The new Hyundai Prime range has been designed to meet the everyday needs of commercial users. It focuses on reliability, low running costs, high uptime and passenger comfort. Both models come with a company-fitted CNG option and are backed by Hyundai’s wide service network across India.
Bookings for the Prime Taxi range are now open at all Hyundai dealerships with a booking amount of Rs 5,000.
Both Prime HB and Prime SD are powered by Hyundai’s proven 1.2-litre Kappa 4-cylinder petrol engine, paired with CNG. This setup is aimed at reducing operating costs while offering consistent performance for long daily usage.
In terms of efficiency, the Prime range delivers impressive mileage figures:
- Prime SD: 28.40 km/kg
- Prime HB: 27.32 km/kg
Hyundai has positioned the Prime Taxi range aggressively for commercial buyers:
- Prime HB price: Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Prime SD price: Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom)
To support high-mileage usage, both models come with a special extended warranty covering the 4th and 5th year or up to 1,80,000 km, whichever is earlier. Hyundai claims a low cost of ownership of around 47 paise per km.
Despite being commercial offerings, the Prime HB and Prime SD are well-equipped. Standard features include:
- Six airbags
- Rear AC vents
- Steering-mounted audio controls
- Front and rear power windows
- Rear parking sensors
- Electrically adjustable ORVMs
- Rear defogger and central locking
- Front fast USB Type-C charger
- 3-point seatbelts and emergency stop signal
- Company-fitted Speed Limiting Function (80 km/h)
Prime HB also gets keyless entry, rear adjustable headrests and driver seat height adjustment.
Hyundai is also offering a range of optional accessories tailored for taxi operations. These include:
- 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Rear camera
- Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD) with four panic buttons
All accessories come with attractive pricing and warranty coverage.

To make ownership easier, Hyundai is offering flexible finance options with repayment tenure of up to 72 months. Commercial customers will also get support from trained Fleet Care Advisors at dealerships, ensuring faster service and better uptime.
The Prime HB and Prime SD are available in three colour options:
- Atlas White
- Typhoon Silver
- Abyss Black
With its entry into the taxi segment, Hyundai aims to offer dependable, feature-rich and cost-effective mobility solutions for fleet operators and taxi entrepreneurs across India.
