Hyundai Motor India plans to launch four new electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030. One of them will be the flagship Hyundai Ioniq 9 electric SUV, which recently made its debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. The carmaker hasn’t yet confirmed its India launch timeline, though it’s expected to arrive towards the end of 2025. The Ioniq 9 will be followed by an electric compact crossover based on the Hyundai Inster EV in 2026. Hyundai has also planned to introduce the new-generation Grand i10 Nios and Venue subcompact SUV with electric powertrain in coming years. Here’s a brief on these four upcoming Hyundai electric cars.

Measuring around 5,060mm in length, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 is the largest and most expensive EV in the company’s product lineup. It has been designed on the E-GMP modular architecture that also underpins the Ioniq 5 and Kia EV9. In global markets, the Ioniq 9 is offered with two seating configurations – 6 and 7 seats, and two trims – Long Range (LR) and Performance with FWD and AWD. Both feature a 110.3kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed WLTP range of up to 620km.
The SUV’s Long Range, RWD version with a rear axle-mounted electric motor, delivers a maximum power of 218bhp and 350Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 6.8 seconds. The Long Range, AWD variant with an additional front-axle mounted motor that’s good enough for 95bhp and 255Nm. It does 0 to 100kmph in 4.8 seconds. The top-end Performance variant comes with a dual motor setup and offers a maximum power of 218bhp.
As a flagship electric car, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 comes packed with a range of advanced features including a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, roof-mounted AC vents, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, multiple 100W USB-C ports in all rows, 10 airbags, ADAS suite and more.

The global-spec Hyundai Inster EV-based compact electric SUV will be introduced as a Tata Punch rival in 2026. Hyundai’s Sriperumbudur manufacturing facility will serve as a production hub for the new Hyundai electric mini SUV (codenamed HE1i). In fact, batteries for the model will be sourced locally from Exide. The Hyundai Inster EV, which is essentially based on the Casper, measures 3,825mm in length, 1,610mm in width and 1,575mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,580mm.
This EV is being offered with two battery packs – Standard 42kWh and Long-Range 49kWh, delivering claimed ranges of 300km and 355km, respectively. The new Hyundai HE1i is expected to be offered with both battery packs in India.
Hyundai cars are known for their feature-packed interior, and the Inster EV is no exception here. This electric compact SUV comes with dual 10.25-inch displays functioning as both a touchscreen infotainment system and an instrument cluster, automatic climate control, ADAS suite and a 360-degree camera.
Details of the electric Hyundai Grand i10 Nios EV and Venue EV are not available at this point of time. However, both EVs are likely to share a strong resemblance with their ICE-powered counterparts. A few EV-specific cosmetic changes will surely setup them apart. Meanwhile, Hyundai will introduce the second-generation Venue in the second half of 2025. The next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 is expected to arrive in 2027.
