Tata Motors has recently launched the Harrier EV, which received a positive response from buyers. The company recorded over 10,000 pre-orders for the electric SUV on the first day of opening of bookings. In a bid to improve sales further, the homegrown passenger vehicle maker is planning to launch multiple new models and facelifts of existing models before the end of this financial year. The Tata Sierra will be the brand’s next big launch in the market.
Tata Motors has officially announced that the Sierra lifestyle SUV will be launched in the Indian market before the end of this financial year. The company will first launch the electric derivative of the Sierra during the festive season, around October-November 2025. The Tata Sierra ICE is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2026.
Similar to the Curvv SUV Coupe, the Tata Sierra will be offered with both ICE and EV versions. The ICE version will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine choices. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 168bhp and 280Nm of torque.
Tata Motors is also working on a new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which is likely to be offered with the Sierra SUV. The diesel version could get either a 2.0L turbo unit or a 1.5L turbo unit.

The electric version is likely to borrow the battery options with the Harrier EV. It could be offered with 65kWh and 75kWh batteries along with a dual-motor AWD set-up. The electric SUV is likely to offer a certified range of over 600km on a full charge. Expect a real-world range of around 450-500km.
The Sierra lifestyle SUV will measure around 4.3 meters in length and will be based on a front-wheel-drive monocoque platform. The ICE version will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate and others. We expect the Sierra to cost somewhere around Rs 12 lakh to Rs 18 lakh.
The Tata Sierra EV will fall in the same category as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6 and others. We expect the new Sierra EV to cost around Rs 18-24 lakh.
The new Tata Sierra will be the first model from the brand to feature a triple screen set-up, including a touchscreen infotainment, driver’s display and a co-passenger entertainment screen. It will come with multiple comfort and convenience features such as HUD, Panoramic Sunroof, JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, ventilated and powered front seats, 360-degree surround view camera, LEVEL 2 ADAS and others.
