Kia has officially launched the Carens Clavis EV in India on July 15, 2025, entering the growing segment of electric 7-seater family cars. The new Kia EV starts at just Rs 18 Lakh (ex-showroom). This Clavis EV is expected to be a game changer in its price bracket.

Kia Carens Clavis EV has a bold and modern look. It features the Digital Tiger Face grille, giving it a strong front appearance. The ice cube LED headlamps provide better visibility and a sleek design.
It also comes with fog lamps for better lighting in bad weather and connected Star Map LED DRLs for a unique front light signature. The rear has stylish tail lamps that match the car’s modern design.
The 17-inch crystal-cut dual-tone alloy wheels give the car a sporty and elegant look.
Inside, the Kia Carens Clavis EV has a 26-inch dual panoramic screen that combines the infotainment system and digital displays. With 90 connected car features, the car ensures easy smartphone integration and seamless connectivity.
For comfort, the car includes ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat, and 64-color ambient lighting. The one-touch electric tumble for the second-row seats and adjustable cup holders add practicality. The floating center console with Jabara cover adds elegance.
The Bose 8-speaker system offers great sound, and wireless charging keeps your devices powered. The panoramic sunroof lets in natural light, making the cabin feel spacious.
Kia focuses on safety in the Carens Clavis EV. It comes with 6 airbags, electric stability control, and a virtual engine sound system for added safety.
It also features Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) with 20 safety features, including a 360-degree camera with blind spot view for easier and safer driving. Additional safety tech includes an electric parking brake with auto hold and air purifiers with virus protection for cleaner cabin air.
Kia is offering the Carens Clavis EV with two battery options. The 42 kWh battery offers a claimed range of around 404 km, while the 51.4 kWh long-range version promises a range of 490 km on a single charge.
The long-range variant can deliver 169 hp, while the standard version produces around 133 hp. Both versions have front-wheel-drive set up and support V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality
The Carens Clavis EV also comes equipped with i-Pedal technology, allowing drivers to use just the accelerator pedal for speeding up, slowing down, and stopping. This one-pedal driving system includes three levels of regenerative braking, offering better control and energy efficiency.

Kia Carens Clavis EV is priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the first locally manufactured electric MPV in India. As for the rivals, it does not have any direct MPV rivals. However, it gives tough competition to Hyundai Creta EV, upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra XUV 7e and BE.06.
