Kia’s Upcoming Electric SUV to Offer 520km Range - More Than Nexon EV

Syros EV Dealer level bookings open To get 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery packs

Kia India is gearing up to launch the much-awaited Syros EV, which will directly take on the segment leader Tata Nexon EV.  According to a report by Autocar India, battery and range specifications for the upcoming Kia Syros EV have leaked via dealer sources ahead of its official launch in late July 2026 or August. Dealers have already started accepting unofficial bookings for the subcompact electric SUV for a token amount of Rs 25,000.

The report claims that the upcoming Kia Syros EV will come with two battery choices - a standard range 42 kWh pack and a long-range 51.4 kWh pack. While the lower-spec 42 kWh unit offers an ARAI-certified range of about 420 km, the flagship 51.4 kWh pack offers a 520 km on a single charge.

By offering 520 km range, the Kia Syros EV will offer more range than the Tata Nexon EV Long Range variant. Both versions will come with a single, front-mounted electric motor, However, exact power and torque numbers are still under wraps.

EV Specific Design

The Syros EV is based on the ICE-turned EV platform. To give it a fresh look, Kia has given several EV-specific design tweaks. It gets a mildly revised front fascia featuring a slimmer, EV-specific closed grille panel, aerodynamically optimised new alloy wheel designs, neon-green brake calibers and Clean EV badging along the rear tailgate profile.

Feature-loaded Cabin

The cabin layout will be similar to the ICE-powered Kia Syros, except for few EV-specific changes. It will come with a massive twin 12.3-inch display array, one for the infotainment and one for the digital driver instrument cluster alongside a dedicated 5-inch touch panel for climate control configurations. The Kia Syros EV features will include a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, rear seat base ventilation for second row occupants, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, LEVEL 2 ADAS, a premium audio system and others.
