Kia Syros EV expected to launch this month. Two battery pack options with up to 520 km range. Premium features borrowed from the ICE model.
Kia is preparing to launch the Syros EV in India, and several new details about the electric SUV have surfaced ahead of its debut. Dealer sources suggest that the Syros EV will come with two battery pack options, offer a claimed driving range of up to 520 km, and pack several premium features.
The Syros EV is expected to launch by the end of this month and will become Kia India's second electric SUV based on an existing petrol model.
According to dealer sources, the Syros EV will use the same battery options as the Kia Carens Clavis EV.
The entry-level version is expected to get a 42 kWh battery pack, while higher variants could come with a 51.4 kWh battery.
The smaller battery is expected to deliver a claimed range of around 420 km, while the larger battery could offer up to 520 km on a full charge. Both versions are likely to use a front-mounted electric motor, although power figures have not been revealed yet.

The Syros EV will look similar to the petrol-powered Syros but with a few changes to give it an electric identity.
It is expected to get a slimmer front grille, a revised bumper and a new design for the dual-tone alloy wheels. The rest of the styling, including the vertical LED headlamps and LED tail-lamps, remains largely unchanged.
At the rear, the SUV gets an EV badge on the tailgate to distinguish it from the ICE version.
Inside, the Syros EV is expected to carry over the same dashboard layout as the standard model.
The SUV is likely to feature dual digital screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster, along with physical controls for the air conditioning and media functions.
Other expected features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a powered driver's seat, rear seat ventilation, USB ports, a dashcam and paddle shifters to adjust regenerative braking.
It is still not confirmed whether Kia will offer an ADAS package on the Syros EV.
Dealer sources suggest that the Syros EV could be priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
Once launched, it will compete with popular electric SUVs such as the Tata Nexon EV, MG Windsor and other models in the compact EV segment.
