Mahindra is gearing up to launch its much-awaited all-electric SUV, the Mahindra XEV 7e, in India by late 2025 or early 2026. This upcoming electric SUV is expected to be the battery-powered version of the popular Mahindra XUV700, built on the brand’s advanced INGLO EV platform.
Here is what we know so far about the Mahindra XUV700 EV (XEV 7e):
The XEV 7e will be the production version of the Mahindra XUV.e8 concept that was first showcased between 2022 and 2023. While the overall silhouette remains similar to the XUV700, the electric version gets EV-specific cosmetic updates.
The SUV draws inspiration from the Mahindra XEV 9e, especially in its front fascia. Notable highlights include inverted L-shaped connected LED DRLs, split LED headlamps placed lower on the bumper, aero-optimized wheels, and sleek wraparound LED tail-lamps, giving it a futuristic and premium appeal.
Inside, the Mahindra XEV 7e will feature a dual-tone black and white theme with a glossy piano black centre console. One of the major highlights is its triple-screen dashboard, which includes a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, and an additional screen for the front passenger.
Other expected features include multi-zone climate control, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated and memory-enabled powered front seats, panoramic sunroof, and an Auto Park feature. This advanced parking system uses 12 ultrasonic sensors to automatically identify and park in suitable spots.
Mahindra XEV 7e will be loaded with safety features, making it one of the safest electric SUVs in its segment. It is expected to offer Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), seven airbags, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Mahindra is likely to offer the XEV 7e with two battery pack options: 59kWh and 79kWh, paired with a rear-mounted electric motor as standard. The larger battery version could deliver a claimed MIDC range of over 500 km on a single charge.
Higher variants may come equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup, providing better performance in terms of power and torque output, aimed at enthusiasts and off-road lovers.
While Mahindra hasn’t officially revealed the launch date, the XEV 7e is expected to arrive in showrooms by the end of 2025 or early 2026. The SUV will likely be priced between Rs 20.9 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a premium yet accessible electric SUV in the Indian market.
