Maruti Suzuki India Limited registered a cumulative sales of 180,077 units in May 2025, reporting a year-on-year increase of 3 per cent. In the same month last year, MSIL registered a cumulative sales of 174,551 units. The brand’s domestic sales were down last month, while the exports witness a significant increase.
In the domestic market, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 138,690 vehicles (Passenger vehicles + Light Commercial Vehicle) in May 2025 as compared to 146,694 units in the same month last year. The company reported a year-on-year sales decline of 5.6 per cent.
The brand’s total domestic passenger vehicle sales were 135,962 units last month as against 144,002 units in the May 2024, reporting a YoY sales decline of 5.58 per cent. MSIL delivered 2,728 LCVs in May 2025 as against 2,692 units in the same month last year.
- The Alto and S-Presso combined sales were 6,776 units in May 2025 as compared to 9,902 units in the same month last year, a YoY drop of 31.5%.
- In the compact segment (Baleno, Swift, WagonR, Dzire, Celery and Ignis), MSIL sold 61,502 vehicles in May 2025 as against 68,206 units in the same month last year. The company reported a YoY sales decline of 9.6% in the compact segment. Adding to it, Maruti Suzuki delivered 458 units of the Ciaz as against 730 units.
- Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 54,899 utility vehicles in May 2025 as against 54,204 units in the same month last year. The company is currently selling Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, XL6, Invicto and Suzuki Jimny in the utility vehicle category.
- The company’s only VAN, the Maruti Eeco reported a strong performance, registering 12,327 units as against 10,960 units in the same month last year, a YoY sales increase of 12.5 per cent.
- Maruti Suzuki’s sales to OEMs mainly Toyota dropped marginally to 10,168 units in May 2025. In the same month last year, MSIL shared 10,490 vehicles to Toyota.
- The big gain for Maruti Suzuki comes from exports. The company exported 31,219 vehicles in May 2025 compared to 17,367 units in the same month last year, reporting a year-on-year sales increase of 80 per cent.
