Mitsubishi is preparing a major product comeback with new SUVs and EVs. The iconic Pajero nameplate is officially making a return. A total of 13 new Mitsubishi models are planned by 2031.
Mitsubishi may not be as active as it once was, but that could soon change. The Japanese automaker has revealed an ambitious roadmap that includes 13 new vehicles by 2031, spanning SUVs, electric vehicles, pickup trucks and the return of the legendary Pajero.
For fans of the brand, this is the biggest Mitsubishi update in years.
The headline grabber is undoubtedly the Pajero comeback.
Mitsubishi recently teased the return of the Pajero and Montero names, confirming that one of its most iconic SUVs is preparing for a new chapter.
Unlike the previous generation, the new Pajero could become an entire family of SUVs rather than a single model.
Early teasers suggest the SUV will retain its rugged DNA with a bold design and strong off-road credentials.

The upcoming Pajero is expected to share its underpinnings with the latest Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck.
That means it will likely continue with a ladder-frame chassis, keeping its reputation as a genuine adventure SUV intact. Reports suggest Mitsubishi is developing dedicated suspension tuning and unique styling to ensure the Pajero stands apart from the Triton.
For enthusiasts, this could be the closest thing to the classic Pajero formula in a modern package.
The Pajero is only one part of Mitsubishi’s future strategy.
The company's roadmap confirms several new SUV launches across different segments. Large family SUVs, compact SUVs and lifestyle-focused products are all under development as Mitsubishi aims to strengthen its presence in one of the fastest-growing automotive categories worldwide.
SUVs are expected to form the backbone of the brand's future lineup.
Mitsubishi is also preparing for an electric future.
The roadmap includes multiple battery-electric vehicles, including electric SUVs. These products will help the company compete in markets where EV adoption is accelerating while also supporting stricter emission regulations.
Hybrid technology is expected to play a significant role as well, offering buyers a balance between performance and efficiency.
