The Indian auto industry is ready to witness the arrival of two new lifestyle SUVs before the end of this financial year. While Mahindra will introduce the new-gen Bolero Neo, Tata Motors will bring back the iconic Sierra nameplate. These SUVs offer a combination of rugged capabilities with modern features and design.
The long-awaited new-gen Bolero Neo facelift will be unveiled on 15th August 2025. The SUV has been caught testing multiple times, revealing top changes and interesting details. The SUV is expected to be launched during the festival season, before Diwali. It will come with a completely new design, and has no resemblance to the existing model.
The new Mahindra Bolero Neo comes with all-new body panels, and looks more rugged with modern design elements. It comes with new front fascia, featuring new Mahindra grille, circular headlamps, prominent bumper, LED fog lamps and an upright nose. It will continue to have shorter overhangs, squared-out wheel arches. Other design changes include new glass areas, more pronounced body cladding, new multi-spoke alloy wheels and new flush-fitting door handles.
The new Bolero Neo facelift will also come with a significantly revised cabin. It is likely to get a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver’s display, height adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. The SUV could get a new 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that powers the Mahindra XUV 3XO. Both manual and automatic gearbox options are likely to be on offer.
Tata Motors is ready to launch the long-awaited Sierra lifestyle SUV in India. In fact, the final production version of the SUV has recently been showcased to dealers at the brand’s dealer meet. The Tata Sierra will be offered with both EV and ICE versions, the former will arrive first during festive season 2025.
The Tata Sierra will be the first model from the brand to feature triple screen layout dominating the dashboard. The SUV will be equipped with several high-end features, including panoramic sunroof, HUD, JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, ventilated and powered front seats and a 360-degree surround view camera. The SUV could also get built-in dash cam, V2L and V2V functionalities with the Sierra EV, and multiple drive modes.
The Sierra will be powered by a new 1.5L, 4-cylinder, NA petrol engine. The SUV will also get a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine at a later stage. The diesel version is likely to get either a 2.0L turbo unit or a 1.5L turbo unit. Its EV version could include a 65kWh with a single motor and a 75kWh with both single and dual-motor set-up.
