We reported earlier that Toyota will introduce the next-gen Hilux lifestyle pick-up truck in 2026. In fact, the next-gen Fortuner will also share design and interiors with the new Hilux. The second-generation Fortuner was introduced in 2026 and is reportedly to receive major upgrade. A new set of patent images reveal the design and interiors of the next-gen Toyota Hilux lifestyle pick-up truck.
The testing of the new Hilux pick-up has already been caught testing on foreign soil. The leaked sketches reveal that the new model comes with an all-new design with inspiration from Toyota’s global Tacoma pick-up. It comes with an all-new front fascia, featuring a massive grille, new LED headlamps with eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs, and massive bumper that houses a radar module for ADAS. The new Toyota Hilux pick-up will also get new alloy wheels and LED tail-lights.

The next-gen Toyota Fortuner is likely to share styling with the global 4Runner SUV. Both models will be based on Toyota’s new GA-F platform that underpins the Land Cruiser 300, 250 and Tacoma. The leaked interior images reveal that the new Hilux will come with a completely redesigned dashboard and centre console.
The big update is that the new models will come with a large, free standing touchscreen infotainment unit and a large digital driver’s display. The pick-up is also likely to get HUD (Head-Up Display), ventilated seats, automatic climate control, powered driver’s seat and other. Same features are also expected to be offered to the India-spec new Toyota Fortuner.
The next-gen Toyota Fortuner and Hilux are expected to be powered by the same 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine with a 48V mild hybrid system. Both manual and automatic gearbox choices will be on offer. The next Fortuner could also get a petrol-electric hybrid engine.
