Duster delivers 18.45kmpl of mileage RTI reveals Sierra turbo to deliver 13.5kmpl Hyundai Creta Turbo returns 18.2kmpl
Renault has officially revealed the ARAI certified fuel economy of the newly launched Duster SUV. Despite being the most powerful in its category, the new Renault Duster manages to be one of the most fuel efficient in its category. For months, the Tata Motors hasn’t revealed the official mileage of the new Sierra. The SUV was appreciated for the 29.9kmpl record achieved during a 12 hour long drive on the tested ground NATRAX in Indore. However, a recent RTI disclosed the actual ARAI-certified numbers.
India’s best-selling midsize SUV, the Hyundai Creta also has a potent turbo petrol engine and directly rivals the likes of the new Renault Duster and the Tata Sierra. In this article, we compared the ARAI certified mileage of the turbo petrol versions of the new Duster, Creta Turbo and Sierra Turbo.

Renault has officially revealed the fuel efficiency of the Duster 1.3L TCe 160 variant, which is claimed to offer the highest torque in the segment (280Nm). Despite being the most powerful in the category, the Renault Duster 1.3L is claimed to offer an ARAI certified fuel economy of 18.45kmpl with automatic gearbox and 17.75kmpl with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.3L turbo petrol engine produces 163hp and 280Nm of torque, and is paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed wet-clutch DCT.
On the other side, the Hyundai Creta Turbo and N Line offers an ARAI certified fuel economy of 18.2kmpl. It is powered by a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, Turbo GDR engine that produces 160hp and 253Nm of torque. It is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The RTI reveal confirmed that the Tata Sierra’s 1.5L TGDi Hyperion engine delivers a certified mileage of 13.5kmpl, which is the least in the segment. This engine churns out 160hp and 255Nm of peak torque, and is paired to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
