Tata Avinya SUV likely to be revealed before the end of this year. Built on JLR’s EMA platform with heavy localisation for India. Coupe-style design, large screens and Level-2 ADAS expected.
Tata Motors is getting ready to introduce its first premium electric SUV under the Avinya nameplate. The Tata Avinya Electric SUV will mark the brand’s entry into the high-end EV space in India. Here are the latest details about its launch timeline, platform and expected features.
The first model under the Avinya brand will be the Avinya SUV. It is expected to be revealed before the end of this year. Tata had earlier showcased the Tata Avinya X concept at the 2025 Delhi Auto Expo. The upcoming production model is likely to be based on this concept.
Tata Motors is also planning a separate premium dealership network for Avinya products. These showrooms will mainly target buyers in tier-1 and tier-2 cities, where demand for premium EVs is increasing.

Tata Avinya Electric SUV will be built on JLR’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA). Tata Motors will pay a royalty fee to JLR for using this platform. However, the architecture will be heavily localised to keep costs under control and ensure competitive pricing.
The company is investing Rs 18,000 crore in new EV products, platforms and related ecosystems. Tata aims to achieve a 45-50 percent share in the EV market. In January 2026, the brand already held a 43 percent market share in the EV segment.
The Avinya X concept featured a futuristic cabin with three screens on the dashboard and a large fourth screen placed lower on the console. The same layout could be seen in the production version.
Expected features include a two-spoke steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger and multi-zone climate control. The SUV is also likely to offer V2L and V2V functionality along with Level-2 ADAS for improved safety.
In terms of design, the Tata Avinya Electric SUV will have a coupe-style shape with a sloping roofline. It is expected to get pop-out door handles, connected LED DRLs, wrap-around tail lamps linked by an LED light bar and aero-optimised alloy
wheels.
With a premium platform, modern features and a new retail strategy, the Tata Avinya Electric SUV will play a key role in Tata Motors’ future EV plans in India.
