Curvv based on Tata’s X1 platform It will feature ADAS suite Expected ex-showroom price to range between Rs. 11 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh Renault to launch Basalt coupe SUV in this festive season
Amid ongoing teasers and speculations, Indian carmaker Tata has finally announced the launch date of its highly anticipated Curvv slated for August 7. Showcased earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, Tata aims to widen its SUV portfolio by pitting Curvv over the Nexon. Further, the festive season is also expected to boost sales of the car.

At 4.3 metres, the Curvv will fall in the compact SUV category. It will be the first budget coupe-SUV from Tata, featuring connected LED headlights and DRLs, blacked-out ORVMs and roof and plastic cladding all across. Even the tail lights get the connected LED bridge treatment. It has comparatively high ground clearance but the official figure is not out yet. The alloy wheel size goes up to 19 inches finished in dual tone.

On the inside, it will retain a minimalistic design with the dashboard housing the instrument cluster and infotainment unit (with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and driver’s display), likely to be larger than the Nexon’s. The drive mode rotary knob selector seen in teasers is also borrowed from the latter. Other safety features include a 360-degree camera, emergency braking and lane assist.

Tata is expected to equip the Curvv with two engines - a new 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine belting out 125 hp and 225 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Nexon generating 113 hp and 260 Nm. The homegrown brand will roll out an electric version of the Curvv too.
