Tata Sierra EV could debut by the end of May 2026 It will rival the Mahindra BE 6 and Hyundai Creta Electric Both RWD and AWD drivetrain will be on offer
Tata Motors is preparing to introduce the long-awaited Tata Sierra EV. As per media reports and recent sightings at the Pune testing facility, the production-ready version of the Sierra Electric is expected to make its public debut at the end of May 2026. To be positioned as a premium lifestyle electric SUV, the Tata Sierra EV will sit between the Tata Curvv EV and the flagship Harrier EV.

The production version of the Tata Sierra EV will remain true to the concepts showcased at previous Auto Expos. The signature wraparound rear glass, similar to the original 90s Sierra, has been retained. This offers a massive glass area that makes the cabin feel incredibly airy.
The SUV gets full LED lighting system with front having a full-width LED DRL bar, while the rear features a sleek, uninterrupted connected tail-lamp. With its boxy, upright silhouette and high ground clearance, the Tata Sierra EV is being marketed as a “go-anywhere” electric SUV in its class.
Similar to the Sierra ICE, the Tata Sierra EV will feature a triple screen setup comprising a dedicated 12.3-inch central screen, a 12.3-inch co-occupant entertainment screen and a 10-inch digital driver’s display.
If reports are to be believed, the new electric SUV is expected to offer a 4-seater “Lounge” version with rear captain seats. The seats are expected to carry recline and slide functions, catering to the chauffeur-driven elite. Adding to it, the SUV will be packed with high-end comfort and convenience features such as panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, powered front seats with ventilation, electronic parking brake with auto hold and others.
The Tata Sierra EV is built on the Acti.ev architecture, which is claimed to offer superior space management and large battery capacities. It is expected to be offered with two battery choices, including 55kWh from Curvv EV and 65kWh from Tata Harrier EV. The electric SUV could offer an ARAI certified fuel economy of around 540km - 600km, and a realistic range of around 400-450km.
It will be a front-wheel-drive SUV, but the higher-spec model will come with a dual-motor AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) layout. The electric SUV will support up to 100 kW DC fast charging. The Sierra EV will come with LEVEL 2+ ADAS, V2L, V2V charging and a 360-degree surround view camera.
The Tata Sierra EV is expected to be priced between Rs 20 lakh and 25 lakh, ex-showroom. The electric SUV will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6 and others in the segment.
