Genesis India Launch Plans Out - Big Move by Hyundai

Genesis India launch confirmed for 2027. SUVs like GV70 and GV80 likely first models. EVs and hybrids part of Hyundai’s plan.

Hyundai has confirmed that its luxury brand Genesis will enter India in 2027. This is a big step for Hyundai as it moves into the premium luxury space in the country.

Set to Take on Big Brands

Genesis will go up against brands like BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz, along with Volvo Cars and Lexus. The focus will be on offering a premium experience with good design, comfort and modern tech.

SUVs Likely First

Hyundai hasn’t shared the full lineup yet, but SUVs like the Genesis GV70 and Genesis GV80 are expected to be the first to launch. Both models are popular globally and sit in the higher SUV segments.

EVs and Hybrids Also Coming

Genesis is expected to bring different engine options, including petrol, hybrid and electric. Globally, it already sells EVs like the Genesis GV60, and more electrified models are on the way.

Local Assembly to Help Pricing

Genesis cars will likely come through the CKD route, which means they will be assembled in India. This should help Hyundai keep prices more competitive.

Long-Term Plan

Genesis will start as a niche brand in India. But Hyundai plans to grow it slowly over time, especially by 2032, to build a stronger premium image. It’s also expected to help Hyundai attract more attention in the high-end space.
