In order to further boost sales, Tata Motors is planning to introduce multiple new products including new EVs and facelifts of existing models. The Punch micro SUV will receive a mid-life upgrade, while the Sierra will receive an electric powertrain. Moreover, Tata Motors will officially introduce the Avinya nameplate as a separate luxury brand in our market before the end of FY2027.

Tata Motors will give a mid-life facelift to the top-seller Punch micro SUV in the first half of 2026. The small SUV has been caught testing multiple times, revealing its design and interior changes. Its exterior styling is heavily inspired by the Punch EV, featuring a new grille and headlamp setup, and new LED DRL signature, new alloys and new front and rear bumpers.
Inside the cabin, the small SUV gets a larger 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a new two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo. The small SUV is likely to get an upgraded dashboard and centre console, and an updated instrument panel. It won’t receive any mechanical changes. The Tata Punch SUV will get the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, NA petrol engine with 5-speed manual and an AMT. It will also get a CNG powertrain.

Tata Motors will launch the Sierra EV by mid-2026; however, the company is yet to make an official announcement on the launch timeline. It will be based on the Acti.ev platform that also underpins the Punch.ev and Curvv.ev. The Tata Sierra EV will directly rival the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and the Mahindra BE 6.
It is likely to be offered with two battery choices, including a 55kWh from Curvv.ev and 65kWh from Harrier.ev. It will be a front-wheel-drive SUV, but the higher-spec model could get a dual-motor AWD setup. The electric SUV is likely to offer a range of up to 450-500km on a single charge.
Tata Motors will officially introduce the Avinya premium luxury brand before the end of the next cycle year. Moreover, the company will launch its first EV SUV under this new badge towards the end of CY26. It is most likely to be the production-ready version of the concept, which was showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Tata Motors will open different showrooms and touch points under the Avinya nameplate.
The Avinya Series will be based on JLR’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA). It will compete with premium electric vehicles, including the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. The company is investing Rs 18,000 crore into new EV products, platforms and ecosystems.
