From electric SUVs to popular facelifts and all-new nameplates, January will see multiple important launches. Here’s a look at the key new car launch in January 2026:
Maruti Suzuki is ready to enter the electric SUV space with the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. The model has already been revealed, and the official launch is expected soon. Tata Punch facelift will be launched on January 13. This update brings noticeable design changes, including new LED headlamps, DRLs, updated bumpers and fresh alloy wheels. Tata may also introduce a new turbo-petrol option alongside the existing engine lineup.
Toyota will launch its first electric SUV, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, on January 19. Nissan will unveil the Nissan Gravite on January 21. This compact MPV is based on the Renault Triber and will target family buyers. The Gravite will sit on the CMF-A+ platform and feature a refreshed design and a different cabin layout. Power is expected to come from a 1.0-litre petrol engine with manual and AMT gearbox options.
Renault Duster India launch is scheduled for January 26. The new-generation Duster will return after a long gap and will be based on the CMF-B platform. The Renault Duster 2026 is expected to get a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine with strong performance figures. Renault is also considering a hybrid option later. The SUV will largely follow the global design but with some India-specific tweaks.
Volkswagen has confirmed the launch of the Volkswagen Tayron in India in Q1 2026. The VW Tayron India debut will mark the brand’s return to the 7-seater SUV segment. It will be sold only in the Tayron R Line version and positioned above the Tiguan. The SUV will come via the CKD route and use a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine paired with a DSG gearbox.
