Skoda Auto Volkswagen India unveiled its all-electric ID.4 in the country during its annual conference. This is not the first time that the brand is showcasing ID.4. It was previously shown at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2020 and at the brand conference in 2023.
It is believed that ID.4 is expected to hit the Indian market later this year. Upon launch, this will become the brand’s first electric vehicle available for purchase.
Apart from this, Volkswagen also introduced its latest lineup of vehicles for Indian customers, including variants like the Taigun GT Plus Sport and GT Line, and the Virtus GT Plus Sport Concept.

From the design perspective, the ID.4 showcases a distinctive appearance, characterized by slim headlights connected by a thin black strip. Its overall profile highlights numerous curves. Similar to many electric cars, the ID.4 incorporates seamlessly integrated door handles and aerodynamically designed features. Depending on the trim, the vehicle will offer a choice between 19 or 20-inch wheels.
Internationally, the Volkswagen ID.4 comes in various configurations, including a variant with an all-wheel drive system. It features amenities such as all-LED lighting, 3-zone climate control, heated seats, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and navigation, along with several driver assistance features.
Internationally, the ID.4 is available in both single-motor and dual-motor configurations. The entry-level trim can generate 168 bhp of maximum power, while the ID.4 Pro boasts 282 bhp and the GTX variant offers 334 bhp.
Equipped with the larger 77 kWh battery pack, the ID.4 Pro achieves a range of 550 kms (WLTP), whereas versions with the smaller 52 kWh battery pack have a range of 342 kms (WLTP). The specific variants of the ID.4 to be offered in India have not yet been confirmed.
Although there is no confirmation about the pricing, expect it to be priced between Rs 50 to Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The ID.4 will challenge the upcoming Skoda Enyaq, Kia EV6, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and Hyundai Ioniq 5 in its segment.
