New Volkswagen Virtus Details Revealed – Design, Features, and More

Volkswagen Virtus facelift gets fresh styling and new features. Upgrades may include digital cluster, AI assistant, and front parking sensors. Launch expected by August 2026, starting at Rs 12 lakh.

Volkswagen is preparing a mid-life update for its Virtus sedan. The facelift is expected to bring new styling, updated tech features, improved safety, and a better transmission. Here’s what to expect from the updated Virtus.

Exterior Design Updates

The Virtus facelift is likely to get some small but noticeable changes to the outside. At the front, it could get new headlamps, a redesigned bumper, and a slimmer grille. An illuminated Volkswagen logo, like on the Taigun, may also be added.

The side of the car will mostly stay the same, keeping the familiar shape of the sedan. New alloy wheels could give it a fresher look. At the back, the taillamps may get a new LED layout with sequential indicators for a more modern touch.

Interior and Features

Inside, the dashboard and instrument cluster could be updated. Volkswagen may add a larger 10.25-inch digital cluster for the driver and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with an AI assistant. The current single-pane sunroof is expected to stay.

Safety Upgrades

The facelift is expected to add front parking sensors. Other safety features like six airbags, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, electronic differential lock, hill hold assist, all-wheel disc brakes, tyre deflation warning, and a rearview camera are likely to remain.

Engine and Transmission

The updated Virtus will probably keep the same 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. The 1.0-litre engine makes about 115 PS and 178 Nm, and the 1.5-litre engine produces around 150 PS and 250 Nm.

The 1.0-litre version could get a new 8-speed automatic instead of the current 6-speed unit. The 1.5-litre engine is expected to continue with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Launch, Price, and Rivals

The Volkswagen Virtus facelift is expected to launch by August 2026, with prices starting around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with sedans like the Skoda Slavia, Honda City, and Hyundai Verna.
