With the unveiling of this new model, the company has set in motion its broader plan to go all-electric by 2030.

In terms of exterior design, the new C40 Recharge is identical to the XC40 Recharge from the front but gets an all-new rear-end design. The new coupe-like silhouette along with the steeply raked rear windscreen boot lip spoiler give the car some sporty character.
Other significant elements on the outside include a new Pixel LED headlamp with 'Thor's Hammer' DRLs, a closed-off grille with the Volvo logo in the centre, muscular bumpers and distinctive C-shaped LED taillamps with a vertical brake light bar. Also new are the 19-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels which complete the overall look of the car.

Built on the CMA platform, the new C40 Recharge measures 4,440 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width and 1,595 mm in height. In terms of storage, the car gets 31 litres of front storage and 413 litres of boot space.

The Sky-Blue cabin features a traditional Volvo layout with dual digital displays (one for infotainment, the other for the instrument cluster) along with a long centre tunnel with a shift-by-wire gear selector.
