Months after initially unveiling the new Volvo C40 Recharge, Volvo Cars India has finally announced the prices for the new model. Launched at an introductory price of Rs 61.25 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2023 Volvo C40 Recharge is the second EV to join the company’s India line-up.
Offed in the top-spec variant, the new Volvo C40 Recharge is priced at Rs 61.25 lakh (ex-showroom) which is Rs 5.35 lakh more than the introductory price for the Volvo XC40 Recharge. Bookings for the new model opens from 5pm on 5 September 2023 both online as well as at the nearest Volvo dealership.
From the outside the new Volvo C40 Recharge features a familiar face to the smaller Volvo XC40 Recharge but get an all-new coupe like silhouette. The slippery EV features the Thor Hammer LED headlamp, C-shaped LED tail lamp and 19-inch aero optimised alloy wheels.
In terms of interiors, the layout feels identical to the XC40 Recharge but features more eco-friendly materials for the carpet and the upholstery. Centre piece of the new cabin is the 9.0-inch tablet-like touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, 13-speaker Harman Kardon Premium sound system, wireless smartphone charger and more.

The 2024 Volvo C40 Recharge comes powered by a 78 kWh Lithium-Ion battery pack that sends power to all four-corners. This system is rated for a maximum power output of 408 bhp and 660 Nm of peak torque. The claimed range on the new model is 530 kilometres.
In terms of safety, the SUV comes equipped with up to 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera, TPMS and more. Like the smaller Volvo XC40 Recharge, the new C40 Recharge also comes provided with Level-2 ADAS suite that features safety tech like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and more.
Volvo cars aims to surpass its sales peak achieved in 2018 with the launch of the new C40 Recharge. Rivals to the Volvo C40 Recharge include the KIA EV6, Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the Mercedes Benz GLA among others.
