The EV sibling of the S90 by Volvo finally breaks its cover. The ES90 electric sedan is built on the brand's SPA2 architecture and second car based on the Superset tech stack after the EX90. This new model boasts a range of up to 700 km on a single full charge.
So, let's have a closer look at this newly launched Volvo electric sedan.
The ES90 is built on as said the modular SPA2 platform with an 800V electrical system and features a 106kWh battery pack. The sedan is compatible with 350 kWh charging speeds and could go to the 300km range on 10 minutes of fast charging.
It has been claimed by the automaker that the electric sedan could deliver a range of about 700 kilometers. The power output and torque specs are yet not be revealed by the brand.
The car features the ‘Thor’ hammer LED headlights, a closed-off grille, and C-shaped tail lamps. The front side of the roof is seen with a lidar hump, and aero-optimized fastback design, and the side profile of the sedan is similar to the plug-in hybrid S90 in the international market.
Volvo ES90 is available with seven exterior colors and wheel options that vary from 20 to 22 inches in size.
Inside the sedan, there is a minimalist aesthetic with clear door panels and a streamlined dashboard. Most functions of the car are controlled through a 14.5-inch touchscreen unit, a separate 9-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver, and a head-up display for real-time driving information.
Apart from that, the ES90 features high-end technology and convenience features including an advanced air purification system, a panoramic sunroof with electrochromic dimming, six-color ambient lighting, a four-zone automatic climate control system, and integrated Google apps.
This new ES90 is on sale in countries like Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and the Czech Republic and is said to be added in other markets later this year and into 2026. As for the launch in the Indian market, it has not yet been revealed.
