Toyota cars has been a major force in the Indian market since the time of the Quails. A major manufacturer in the country, Toyota has a lean model line-up that majorly focuses on different SUV segments and budgets. If you are in the market for a reliable and functional car, then the company has it easy with its wide array of models ranging from Rs 6.59 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 90.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand currently has a total of 9 models in its line-up that are split between hatchbacks, sedans and SUV/MPV/Pick-up trucks. Here is a quick guide based on body type and budget.

As a SUV major, finding a hatchback in Toyota’s line-up is quite a weird feeling. But as part of its JV with Maruti Suzuki, the brand sells a rebadged version of the Maruti Baleno in the country. Christened the Glanza, this Toyota car model features subtle design changes over its sibling along with new Toyota badges all around. Priced at Rs 6.59 lakh (ex-showroom), this is the cheapest model in the company’s line-up and a good starting point to experience the Toyota reliability and exceptional service network and quality.

Currently the company sells 5 SUV models in its line-up. The cheapest of the lot is the Urban Cruiser, which is a rebadged version of the previous generation Maruti Brezza. This sub-compact SUV is priced at Rs 9.02 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes equipped with a 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine.
For a bit more money over the Urban Cruiser, one can bring home the newest model in the brand’s portfolio, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Equipped with a choice of strong hybrid or mild hybrid powertrain option, this is Toyota’s first product in the compact SUV space. This vehicle comes equipped with all the bells and whistles expected on a 2022 car and is also provided with many unique features like two-step retractable panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, HUD and more. This is also the most fuel-efficient car in the country.

Moving away from the budget segment. The company has three flagship SUV products, targeted at unique customer bases. The cheapest of this lot is the Fortuner which is available at Rs 32.40 lakh (ex-showroom). This is a perfect car for anyone who is looking to exude presence on the road. This big brawny SUV comes with lots of chrome that helps enhance the premium quotient of the model. The Fortuner also gets sporty looking model called the Legender, which ditches the chrome for all blacked out elements. These cars are especially popular in India and sell like hot cakes, if you are planning to buy one then book well in advance to secure an allocation.
But if you don’t desire a standard looking SUV, but want something that is more practical and revolutionary, then Toyota offers you the Hilux Pick-up which is essentially a Fortuner that has ditched the third row of seats for a rear bed. So, there are all the SUV options available for you from Toyota.

As one of the front-runners in popularising the MPV segment, Toyota offers two distinct MPV product in the country. At the budget end we have the trusty old Innova Crysta while at the luxury end, we have the Vellfire. The Innova Crysta has been the popular choice of anyone who is looking for a large chauffer drive car due to its supple ride quality and excellent utilisation of space inside the cabin. But for the ones that want to be unique and like to travel in the lap of luxury, the Vellfire with its premium interior and features is the car to go for.

Finally, it is the Toyota Camry. A car that offers excellent ride and comfort for its occupants. Priced at Rs 43.45 lakh (ex-showroom), the car feels expensive when compared to the competition but offers features from two segments above to justify the price tag. The car comes equipped with a strong hybrid powertrain, that not only makes it cleaner to run, but also light on the pocket.
So, these are all the cars that are currently available in Toyota’s portfolio. Let us know which car is your favourite. If none of the above-mentioned cars don’t take your fancy, then the upcoming Toyota car models include the Rumion MPV, Belta sedan, Innova Hycross MPV and the Land Cruiser SUV.
