Will carry a host of cosmetic changes inside out; Expected to come with Level 2 ADAS. Launch by Diwali 2022.
MG Motor India is preparing to launch a refreshed version of the Hector in the country. Expected to launch around this festive season, the SUV will undergo significant design and feature upgrades.
Going by the latest rumours, the Hector Facelift will get a new front fascia with a redesigned front grille, reprofiled bumper and reworked headlamps. The new redesign will make the four-wheeler sporty and muscular. Other changes to the exterior design are expected to be limited to a new alloy wheel design and a slightly tweaked rear end.
On the inside, the SUV will feature minor changes to the dashboard design along with an updated upholstery. The infotainment system will be an all-new unit with smaller bezels and an updated interface.
The major change to it will be the addition of Level 2 ADAS technology with latest features such as blind spot detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and rear cross-traffic alert among others. The ADAS will be a direct lift off from its sibling MG Astor.
Despite major changes to the design and the feature list, the Hector mechanically will remain the same. It will continue to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine along with a 2.0-litre Fiat-sourced turbo diesel unit. The former produces 143 bhp, while the latter churns out 170 horses. Transmission on offer includes a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox.
The MG Hector currently rivals the likes of Tata Harrier, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta along with the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Vitara.
MG Hector petrol variants now E20 fuel compatible; 2025 model launched with no price hike, meeting new emission norms and supporting sustainable mobility.
