Force Motors has been working on the 5-door Gurkha for a long time. Slated to launch soon in India, the model has already been spotted testing several times on roads. Recently, a video emerged online that showed a Gurkha 5-door test mule with a 7-seat layout.
Based on the video, the 5-door Gurkha has two individual chairs in the first row while the second row gets a bench for three occupants, and the third row consists of two front-facing individual seats. In addition, the 7-seat layout version is likely to get 18-inch alloy wheels which flaunts a different design compared to the outgoing version. Chances are that the SUV will get a larger touchscreen infotainment system. It is also said that the 2024 Gurkha might get a 9-seater version in the future.
Talking about the powertrain, it will come equipped with a 2.6-inch diesel unit that can produce the maximum power of 95 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The transmission option will include a 5-speed manual mated with a 4x4 powertrain system.
The Gurkha 5-door is expected to launch in the coming weeks. Prices will be in the range of Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 14.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will rival the Mahindra Thar 5-door, Maruti Suzuki Jimny, and the upcoming Thar Armada.
