The XEV 7e is Mahindra’s upcoming electric 7-seater SUV, launching in 2026. Powered by dual-motor AWD and 59kWh/79kWh battery options. Features a triple-screen dashboard, Harman Kardon sound, and Level 2 ADAS.
Mahindra is making big waves in the electric car market, and one of the most-awaited launches is the Mahindra XEV 7e. Set to arrive in Q1 2026, this new 7-seater electric SUV will offer a mix of advanced technology, performance, and stylish design to the Indian market.
Here's everything we know so far about the XEV 7e and what makes it a standout in Mahindra's growing electric lineup.
Mahindra XEV 7e is the electric version of the popular Mahindra XUV700. Based on the XUV.e8 concept, the XEV 7e (XUV700 EV) is a spacious, high-tech SUV that is designed for families who want to drive greener without sacrificing style or comfort. It will share several components with the XUV700, but with a fully electric powertrain, offering better efficiency and performance.

Mahindra XEV 7e is expected to make its debut in India in Q1 2026. Some sources suggest that it could arrive a little earlier, possibly in late 2025 or early 2026. As Mahindra's first electric version of the XUV700, the XEV 7e is going to target the premium SUV market, and it will compete against rivals from both Indian and global brands.
Mahindra XEV 7e will offer two battery options: a 59kWh and a 79kWh LFP battery pack. These two variants will offer a strong driving range, allowing you to travel long distances without frequent charging stops. Fast-charging capabilities will be available, meaning you can quickly top up the battery on the go.
The electric XUV700 will be available in rear-wheel drive (RWD) and dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) options, giving customers the choice between a more efficient RWD setup or an AWD version for better traction and handling on tough roads.
In terms of safety, the XUV700 Electric will come with a Level 2 ADAS system, which provides semi-autonomous driving features.
Step inside the XEV 7e, and you will find a high-tech, luxurious cabin with everything you need for more comfort. The SUV will feature a triple-screen dashboard with three 12.3-inch displays, providing an ultra-modern look. You will also get a two-spoke steering wheel, multi-zone climate control, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos for an immersive listening experience.
For seating, the XEV 7e will offer a 6- or 7-seat layout. The 6-seat version will come with captain seats in the second row for more comfort on long journeys, while the 7-seat version offers a more traditional setup with a bench seat in the second row.
Mahindra XEV 7e will be built on Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard platform, the same platform used for other Mahindra electric models like the XEV 9e and BE 6. This platform provides a solid base for electric vehicles, which balances strength and efficiency.
The XUV700 electric will share several components and features with the XEV 7e, including the powertrain, but the XEV 7e will come with more distinct EV-specific design elements.
The exterior design of the 2026 Mahindra XEV 7e will closely resemble the XUV700, especially in the side profile. However, it will feature some key updates to make it stand out as an electric vehicle. Expect a full-width LED light bar, inverted L-shaped DRLs, and a closed-off front grille that adds to its aerodynamic, modern appearance.
The rear of the XEV 7e will feature a new bumper, redesigned C-pillars, and an updated rear spoiler to give it a fresh, clean look that signals it’s a next-gen electric SUV.
The XEV 7e is just one part of Mahindra’s ambitious plan to expand its electric vehicle lineup. Other upcoming models include the XUV 3XO EV, Thar.e, Bolero Electric, and Scorpio Electric, which will bring new design and smart features.
As Mahindra continues to roll out new electric SUVs, the XEV 7e stands out for its combination of top-notch features, spacious design, and eco-friendly performance. It’s going to be one of the top contenders in the premium electric SUV market when it launches in 2026.
