Tata Sierra to debut in 2026 as an EV, ICE version to follow Next gen Kia Seltos India launch expected in early 2026 2026 Renault Duster to return with new features & hybrid power
The midsize SUV market in India is getting ready for some serious action. For years, the Hyundai Creta has dominated the segment, but in 2026, three big players - Tata Motors, Kia, and Renault are gearing up to introduce fresh models that could change the game. If you’re looking for upcoming midsize SUVs India 2026, here are the three biggest launches to watch out for.
Tata Motors is bringing back an icon in 2026 with the all-new Tata Sierra. The SUV will debut as an EV, offering two battery pack options and a driving range of over 500 km. The Tata Sierra ICE version will follow later, powered by a new 1.5L turbo petrol and a 2.0L diesel engine. With modern design and advanced features, the Sierra aims to be one of the strongest Creta rivals in India.

Kia is readying the next gen Seltos, which will be revealed globally in November 2025 and is expected to launch in India in early 2026. The new Seltos will be larger and more spacious than the current version, sporting fresh styling and upgraded features. It will continue with the existing petrol and diesel engines, while a hybrid variant is planned for 2027.
The legendary Renault Duster is making a comeback in 2026. The India-spec Duster will be based on the CMF-B modular platform and is likely to launch in January 2026. The SUV will feature a 1.3L turbo petrol engine, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and premium upgrades. The 2026 Renault Duster will also get hybrid engine options towards the end of 2026 or early 2027, making it one of the most anticipated launches in the segment.
With the Tata Sierra, next gen Seltos, and 2026 Renault Duster entering the market, the midsize SUV space in India is set for a major shake-up. These models will bring advanced tech, hybrid and EV options, and refreshed designs to directly challenge the Hyundai Creta, which has been the benchmark for nearly a decade.
